Frequently Asked Questions

Guidance on manuscript submission, editorial policy, and correspondence with The Biomaterial Review.

01

How do I submit a manuscript for peer review?

Manuscripts should be submitted via the Editorial Submissions portal accessible through our contact form. Select "Manuscript Submission" as the subject and include an abstract, corresponding author details, and a declaration of conflicts of interest. Our editorial office will acknowledge receipt within five business days and assign a handling editor to coordinate the double-blind peer review process.
02

What is the expected response time for general inquiries?

General correspondence receives a considered response within three to five business days. Matters relating to active peer review, editorial decisions, or press requests may be routed to a specialist editor and can require additional time. For urgent clinical or ethical concerns, please indicate the priority in your subject line.
03

Who should I contact regarding advertising or sponsorship?

Commercial inquiries, including institutional advertising, symposium sponsorship, and reprints, are handled directly by the editorial team. Please use the contact form with the subject "Advertising and Sponsorship" and include your organization, intended placement, and any relevant clinical or regulatory context. All commercial arrangements are reviewed against our editorial independence policy before acceptance.
04

Can I request a correction or retraction for a published article?

Requests for correction, expression of concern, or retraction follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Submit the article citation, the specific claim in question, and supporting evidence via the contact form with the subject "Editorial Corrections." The handling editor and the original peer reviewers will assess the request, and any resulting notice will be linked prominently to the original article of record.
05

How do I subscribe to or manage my subscription?

Individual and institutional subscriptions, including access renewals, address updates, and multi-seat licensing, are administered by our subscriptions office. Contact us with the subject "Subscription Management" and reference your account number or institutional affiliation. Verified clinicians may also request temporary access to specific issues while a subscription is being processed.
